Thanks for the tips, I especially like the date idea. If a file was first scanned 3 months ago and still only has a couple no name av detections, that is a good tip.
I would also like to add that virus authors and authors that crypt files for customers can get the file signed. The last guy I saw charged about 80 bucks for a signed, FUD crypt.
While most commercial crypters and entry level stuff won't have that option, people who use private stub or write their own it could possibly be signed.
So that tip, while useful, isnt ALWAYS true .
